Chunky Cardigan + Fall Inspiration

Happy first day of Fall, everyone!! We made it! All of those Pumpkin Spice Lattes are totally justifiable now. 😉 Today I am talking about this lovely,  chunky cardigan that I got on sale at the Banana Republic Factory Store. It is a major staple for Fall, and I know I am going to be wearing it a ton. Its neutral color makes it go with absolutely everything!

I wore this adorable, chunky cardigan with my super soft tank from The Gap, my black jeggings from American Eagle, and my taupe, wedge booties from Target. I can’t forget the accessories! I also wore my beautiful statement necklace from Passiana that you saw featured in my last blog post and my classic wood watch from JORD (Giveaway for a $75 voucher ends on 9/25/16. Enter here!). 🙂 My purse by 88 is also featured in an older blog post.

Along with my cute, chunky cardigan, I also want to share my Fall inspiration with all of you today. Fall is my favorite weather season, and I’m also an October baby, which adds to the hype for me (I say weather season here, because Christmas is my favorite holiday season). 😉 I’m obsessed with pumpkin everything, the leaves changing color, the cool air, and all of the scary movies and shows that start appearing on television. Who else watches Hocus Pocus over and over? 🙂 Classic! So I do love the Halloween aspect as well, of course.  I used to setup my own haunted house every year for my birthday when I was little, and now my Hubby and I setup the whole front of the house with creepy music and decorations for the kids…and us. 😉

My Fall inspiration this year is to share a bit more about myself with all of you. Fall puts me in a really good mood, so expect some gushing of positivity. 🙂 I turn 26 in a few weeks, and I have been really thinking about who I am at this point in my life. As you all know, I am a Wife and a Mother. After God, those roles are my top priorities. My daughter, Lana, is the one who inspired me to have the confidence to start this blog in the first place. I have to also credit my Husband when it comes to this, because he has always made me feel so special, beautiful, and like I could do anything I want in life.

When it comes to myself, there are so many aspects to my personality that I don’t always share. I have been introverted for a big part of my life, but my dreams and passions are very extroverted, if that makes sense. I have such a passion for fashion, beauty (in all forms), and all things lovely. I get so much enjoyment from a simple cup of coffee, a unique, distressed wall that I may find somewhere for photography, or a cute table setup outside of a little café on the side of a busy street. I live in St. Joseph, MO, which is a smaller city just about 40 minutes north of Kansas City, MO. I love living close to family and all of the places where I grew up, but I also get great motivation and inspiration from visiting large and beautiful cities like New York City.

My dream is to visit Paris and other amazing places in Europe one day soon. I have always had a great love of literature as well, such as Shakespeare and Charles Dickens. Our choreographed first dance at our wedding was actually the song “Young and Beautiful” by Lana Del Rey, because we fell in love with it when we heard it on the movie Great Gatsby (which is actually also one of my favorite books). I love the deep meaning of the song. Do you notice anything special about Lana Del Rey’s name? 🙂 That was also a factor in how we chose our Lana Rose’s name. 🙂

I originally created Rose Lining as a personal outlet for myself and with the hope that it could become something great. It has truly evolved into a place where I hope to inspire and encourage all women to know that they can be the best version of themselves in all facets of their lives. If you are a Mother, you can still take time for yourself and your passions. I want my daughter to know that she can do anything. I want her to see an example of a fearless pursuit of dreams. Fear is your biggest competitor.

Being introverted, I hid a lot of my personality and passions for quite a bit of my life out of fear of the kind of attention or feedback I may get. Don’t let anyone’s negativity get you down. If anything, let them encourage you to shine brighter. Be the best version of you with absolutely no apologies. 🙂

I wish you all a fabulous first day of Fall! I hope you loved the chunky cardigan and got some inspiration for Fall!

-xoxo
