Valentine's Day outfit

Happy Wednesday, my friends! 🙂 Today I’m sharing another look from Red Dress Boutique as promised, and I put together a casual, Valentine’s Day outfit this time! For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you saw this look in the try-on session I did on my Insta Stories on Monday. I always try to think about what you guys would truly want to grab for your own personal closets, and I love the fact that you can wear this sweater on Valentine’s Day and beyond! The pearl embellishment is also very on trend right now! Plus, I love pink and pearls. 😉

I also want to talk about something serious with you guys concerning the world of social media, but first I will give you all the details you need on this casual Valentine’s Day outfit! My pink, pearl sweater is $42 and also comes in 3 colors (pink, cream, and grey). Certain sizes are starting to sell out in each color, so make sure to grab one fast! My distressed jeans have the most flattering fit (true to size), and they are under $60! The distressing on the knees is perfect! My white sneakers are only $22, and they will go with anything! My taupe purse is $32, and it’s so gorgeous! Finally, my rose gold, tassel earrings are just $20 and will be perfect for Valentine’s Day or any day after!

You can shop everything from my outfit at the bottom of this post! Also, do you notice how the pictures get less snowy as I go on?! This was literally a few steps away from where the snow was – Missouri weather as usual. 🙂 Now to get a bit more serious…

Living in the World of Social Media

There has been a lot of talk going on about the negative impact that social media can have on people (especially kids), such as depression, anxiety, and other very serious concerns. This does not surprise me, because most of us are only sharing our highlight reel, and I think it’s good to bring awareness to it. This is a very real thing, and it becomes even more complicated when you’re a blogger, because it’s pretty much your job to present things in a beautiful, inspirational way. However, I believe that messy and real can actually be the most beautiful and inspirational thing sometimes.

I love sharing cute outfits with you guys and all of the great deals that I find, but I get the most fulfillment from when I share LIFE along with all of that. It definitely makes you feel more vulnerable when you share raw human emotion, and it’s still something I definitely have to work on. I’ve always been pretty introverted, and it takes me a lot to share my feelings openly. It can only help all of us, though, to start being more real. It’s a very important thing to think about right now in our society, especially with our children growing up in it. So many young children are already having issues due to constantly dealing with comparison while living in the world of social media. I still remember listening to the dial up tone while waiting for the internet to start up (I’m aging myself), and now children have everything at their fingertips 24/7.

Each and Every One of You is a Blessing

When our daughter, Lana, had her emergency room visit almost a month ago, it helped me so much to talk about it on Instagram and then share it with you all later in a blog post. You can read the post here. Let me tell you – there are so many beautiful souls out there. I am truly thankful for each and every one of you. I got so many supportive messages and comments. That’s real life, and I became closer with so many people just from sharing my experience. So that is one of my goals this year with all of you – to be even more real. I also want to remind all of you reading this how much God loves you. He took the time to make each and every one of us. That is amazing. You are important, and you have a very special path laid out just for you.

I hope all of you can find happiness, fun, and inspiration (of all kinds) in my blog and social media posts, and you can always comment or email me if you have any questions or thoughts. 🙂

I have linked all the items from my casual Valentine’s Day outfit below, and I also added the other sweater color options and another shoe color option!
