5 Little Ways to Be Cheerful During the Holidays

be cheerful

Happy Tuesday! It is officially freezing here, you guys! I don’t mind it being cold, but it has been unbearably cold lately! So naturally I have had all things warm and cozy on my mind. I recently got the beanie and boots in the picture above, and they are both so warm and comfy! The boots are true to size (I got a size 8). I’m also pretty picky about how any kind of hat or beanie looks on me, and I love how this one fits! 🙂

I figured I would also have some fun and share 5 little ways to be cheerful during the holidays! 🙂 I took a poll on Instagram today, and most of you said that you get in a really cheerful mood around the holidays (like me). However, I know that some people can get stressed or sad around this time of year. Obviously, it is helpful to remember the real reason for the season. I share a bunch of cute clothing and gift ideas as part of my job, but there are definitely things that are way more important than that. I know you all know that, though! It’s just good to be reminded sometimes (I remind myself all the time)! 🙂 The ways to be cheerful that I list below are just some fun, little things I like to do during the holidays!

5 Little Ways to Be Cheerful During the Holidays

1. Play Christmas Music While Being Productive

I just played some Christmas music on my Google Home Mini yesterday and today, and it put us in such a good mood! I was really surprised at how much it got me in the Christmas spirit! Lana drew a picture while we listened to music, and I got some work done. It was really relaxing! Music can have a big effect on your mood, so definitely take advantage of it! 🙂

2. Watch Hallmark Christmas Movies/Make a List of Your Favorite Christmas Movies

If you like watching the Hallmark Channel (I know most of us do), start watching a bunch of the Hallmark Christmas movies! They seem to just have this ability to relax you, and they take your mind off of anything that might be stressing you. If you don’t like watching Hallmark movies (they might be too cheesy for you), make a list of your favorite Christmas movies and watch them little by little!

3. Treat Yourself to a Starbucks Holiday Coffee

This is something really small, but I’m always amazed at how getting something like a Caramel Brulée Latte from Starbucks can put me in a good mood! It really is the little things that can make all the difference! You can maybe even buy a coffee for the car behind you one day! 😉

4. Clean and Decorate Your Home

Cleaning the house is definitely not my favorite thing in the world, but I have been enjoying it a lot more lately! Cleaning is actually psychologically proven to improve a lot of people’s moods, because it makes them feel like they are in full control of something. The predictable pattern of their cleaning routine also gives them a calming effect. So put on some Christmas music, get your house all clean/organized, and then have some fun decorating! It always makes me feel so good to sit down and relax after getting a bunch of cleaning done. I’ll also usually put something that smells really good in our wax melter. Then the house feels so much more cozy! 🙂

5. Do Something You Remember Loving as a Child During the Holidays

We all have certain nostalgic memories from our childhood that we smile about, and sometimes it’s good to just think about them. I think that we can all agree that the Holidays were always the best when we were children, but we can still enjoy it all as adults too! If you have children, you can also relive a lot of your special traditions with them! It melts my heart so much when I see Lana enjoying something that I loved as a child! 🙂 No matter what your situation, you can always pick a favorite Christmas movie from your childhood and then have some hot cocoa or Christmas cookies (or both)! Might as well wrap some Christmas presents while you’re at it! 😉

I hope you all enjoyed these 5 little ways to be cheerful during the holidays! I always love sharing posts that have to do with happiness! 🙂 If you want to read more lifestyle topics like this, just click here!

Also, can you believe that Thanksgiving is next week?! It’s coming so fast! I told Ashton I want to put up the tree for sure this weekend before family comes, so that we can all relax and enjoy it when they are here. I have just been really wanting to put up the decorations in general too!

Have a great rest of your week, and I’ll talk to you soon! 🙂
