5 Little Things That Put Me in a Good Mood Lately

good mood

Hey, friends! I haven’t done a blog post in a while, and I just got inspired to share some little things that are putting me in a good mood lately! 🙂 Happiness is so important, and maybe the warmer weather has been helping my mood too! Whatever the reason, here are 5 little things that help put me in a good mood and make me really productive too!

5 Things That Put Me in a Good Mood Lately

1. Taking Some Time Away from My Phone

I’m on my phone all the time (aren’t we all), and it really makes a difference when I take some time away from that little screen. Everyone is on their phone constantly as it is, but I’m on there even more than that due to working in the social media world. So I have been very deliberate lately about putting my phone down and computer away. Then I take time to do other things, like play with Lana or get stuff done around the house. I always feel in such a good mood after doing this and freshly ready to go again with job related tasks!

2. Cleaning & Organizing the House

This one is ironic, because I have never really enjoyed cleaning the house. I started liking it more a year or so ago. Any time I feel stressed or overwhelmed, I stop what I’m doing and clean the house. It’s amazing how getting the space all cleaned up around you can improve your mood! Plus, then you know that you have all of the house cleaning done! Now you can narrow down what else you need to focus on! 🙂 I also love to go through things like clothing, makeup, and accessories. I make piles of what I want to sell or get rid of, and then I have only the things I truly like to use on a consistent basis.

3. Grabbing My Favorite Starbucks Drink

This is something so small, but I’m a firm believer in how helpful little things can be! I just recently tried an “Iced Cinnamon Almond Milk Macchiato” (substituted sugar free cinnamon dulce), and it is like drinking cereal! SO good! Definitely give it a try (sugar/sugar free)! 😉 I’m always in a good mood and feel so motivated to get stuff done after grabbing a delicious coffee!

4. Listening to Songs from When I was Growing Up

Music is seriously powerful! Playing one song can instantly change your entire mood! I’ve found that listening to fun songs from when I was growing up puts me in such a good mood, because it reminds me of that care-free stage in life. 🙂 If there are any newer songs that I’m really into, I listen to those as well!

5. Taking Some Time to Exercise

I definitely don’t always want to exercise, but I have learned that it is something that is just necessary. When I don’t exercise on a somewhat consistent basis, I tend to get more stressed and overwhelmed. I try to setup something easy for me to do each day. I take about 20-30 minutes to do reps of simple exercises I have learned over time. Weights are always something I use too, because I have always seen the best results when using them. 🙂

“Happiness is a Mood….Not a Destination”

I will end this post with one of my favorite quotes from One Tree Hill. 🙂 This quote really helps me:

“So, I’ve been thinking about this whole being happy thing, and I feel like people get lost when they think of happiness as a destination. We’re always thinking that someday we’ll be happy; we’ll get that car or that job or that person in our lives that will fix everything. But happiness is a mood, and it’s a condition, not a destination. It’s like being tired or hungry, it’s not permanent. It comes and goes, and that’s okay. And I feel like if people thought of it that way, they’d find happiness more often.” – Julian Baker

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week!
